La Limonada

These past 2 months have been very intense with a lot of work.  It seems I am always doing something, starting something, or about to do something.  But a good friend said to me, “Tita, look at what you have already done and not at what you have left to do…” So, with all my heart I am giving God thanks for all that we have accomplished.

Guillermo is our math teacher.  He teaches math to our adolescents.  Finally we have a man on our team!!!!  God is wonderfully faithful.

We held a medical clinic focused on ridding the children of parasites.  Doctor Erick came.  It was a nice experience.  He attended all of the small children with a lot of love and care.  None of them cried.  He left us a donation of medicine which really blessed us.

Wilson is a 16-year-old who has been timid and introverted all of his life.  He was rejected from the wound until his mother finally came to know Jesus (7 years ago). This year he has had an explosion of the rage that he has kept inside due to the problems at his home.  His father drinks alcohol all the time and his mother argues with him about that.  Wilson has tried to kill himself 4 times.  He says he has no reason to live and he says that he is sick of his parents.  Right now he is in a rehabilitation center because he was smelling glue and thinner.  Wilson says that the one who should be there is his father . On Monday we will take him to the doctor with the permission of the center and they will run tests to see if there could be some type of hidden problem.  Please pray for this situation.  It has been very hard; however I firmly believe that God is putting everything in its place.  All of this is God’s response to so many prayers that have been made.  If anyone knows of a family that would like to take him when he leaves the rehabilitation center... please, don’t hesitate to tell me.  We don’t want him to have to return to the same family environment.

You may remember Walter; the pictures of the stove and the girl were taken at his house.  He was in the General Hospital San Juan de Dios for 22 days with an odd case of peritonitis.  However, there is a family that will possibly pay for him to go to a private hospital so that he can be examined there because he is very sick, but they cannot operate on him at the general hospital for another 2 months.  And if that weren’t bad enough, the hospital is on strike .  Pray for him.  He is badly off.

I bless God because He has allowed me to be more conscious of the importance of the Vidas Plenas program.  The complete attention that these children are receiving assures us that they will not join gangs or be a part of vandalism.  Sadly, I see various adolescents from 11-years-old onward who are sniffing glue and involved in vandalism.  However, they call me and come to me with questions.  They know that they still have a chance.  They see the light and hope of Jesus.  God Himself has many ways of manifesting Himself in the world.

I want you to know that although we are here in La Limonada from Monday to Monday, I can feel an immense gratitude for each and every one of you for your: words of encouragement, prayers, offerings, visits, emails and phone calls, special offerings, and all types of help.

All of these things cause you to be on the front lines with us and it causes you to be a part of this great and beautiful mission.  I ask God to show you how much you have blessed us and how much we need you.

God bless you for your lives.  Keep going forward,

-Tita

The Lord your God is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will renew you in His love, He will exalt over you with loud singing.
